In April next year, Carnival Destiny is scheduled to restart its cruises in the oceans after a break of 49 days being renamed as Carnival Sunshine following a $155 million makeover that it has gone through. There will be a number of things that the Carnival Sunshine can boast about when it hits the waters again in 2013 and they include the line's longest waterslide, a slide that portrays a racing theme as well as a full-service Asian Restaurant.

Vance Gulliksen, spokesman for Carnival, said that Carnival Sunshine will take the enhancement program of the cruise operator, Fun Ship 2.0, to another level as it will incorporate a branded bar, dining as well as entertainment experiences. He added that some unique as well as special innovations are also being created specifically for this cruise vessel which will further add to the enhancement program.

The water park that is being created as part of the initiative referred to by Carnival as Fun Ship 2.0 will be different from those that are available on other ships because of the racing theme that it displays. A feature of the Twister waterslide which is 334 feet long is a clear turn that is designed to extend over edge of the ship. The Speedway Splash slide which is 235 feet long will without any doubt satisfy the needs of all those racing enthusiasts as it features a display scoreboard that will indicate the times of the racers. In addition, the racing atmosphere will be further enhanced with the help of special effects provided by the lighting.

The kids section of the water park, named SplashZone, will feature around 40 interactive water games which include a drenching bucket of 300 gallon capacity.

The new full-service Asian restaurant will have an open kitchen. This feature enables the passengers to see what is being cooked for them by the chefs of the restaurant. Appetizers, Asian soups, rice dishes and noodles, seafood and meat entrees, etc., are some of the menu items that will be on offer for the passengers in the restaurant. Whereas the lunch will be provided free of cost to the passengers, there will be a surcharge of $12 for dinner which will have to be paid by the travelers.

Other features that are exclusive to Carnival Sunshine cruise ship are as follows:

Havana Bar: The bar will be designed to invoke the feelings of the heydays of Havana. During the day, finger foods and Cuban coffee will be served to the travelers in the bar. The bar will offer not only cocktails from Cuba but also feature enthralling live Latin music during the night time.

Shake Spot: This milkshake joint will definitely offer something for each passenger. The items that will be offered at the Shake Spot include ice-cream floats, milkshakes and adult varieties that are made with Cointreau, Grand Mariner and other liqueurs.

JavaBlue Café: This café will offer cappuccinos, espressos, lattes and other specialty coffee that are infused with liqueur. Extra-large cinnamon buns, red velvet cake slices and giant cupcakes will also be available in the café.

Pizzeria del Capitano: This is Carnival Sunshine's offering of Italian cuisine. This complimentary Italian family restaurant in the cruise liner Cucina del Capitano will have five different types of pizzas on offer 24-hours a day.

The other standard additions that come as part of the enhancements related to Carnival Fun Ship 2.0 include BlueIguana Cantina, Burger Joint, EA Sports Bar and RedFrog Pub. The three-deck Serenity area, meant only for adults, will definitely be the biggest when compared with others in Carnival's fleet. It will be complete with a swimming pool, whirlpool, waterfall and a full bar.

Another attraction of the top deck will be the SportsSquare with the rope course which includes a new zip line and a miniature golf course in two levels.
