The Languedoc-Roussillon region has over 750,000 acres of vineyards and is the biggest producer of wine in France. What better place for six women to base themselves for ten days of pleasure and delight.

What do you get when you put six women in one place? A whopping good time. There is nothing better than sitting drinking coffee or quaffing wine with women who know how to have a good time and what better place than being in the south of France in summer. French Kissed Tours is specifically designed to cater for women over 40 who just want to be indulged and pampered. The Languedoc-Roussillon region in the south of France is the perfect place to delight in all those traditional French dreams of endless vineyards, cobble stoned streets, canals, chateaux and miles of Mediterranean blue.

Why Only Women over 40?

When women get together there is a spontaneous and genuine feeling of wanting a good time with lots of raucous laughter. There is no shortage of good times and laughter when the sky is cobalt blue, the sun is shining and the drinks are flowing.

Women over 40 already know what they want and they want it now! They have had the children, they have had one or two husbands, they have catered to others around them for years and now they want to let loose for ten days of no worries, no stress and definitely no set timetables. Alex, my long suffering husband is their chauffeur who indulges whims such as the uncontrollable need for chocolate, the passion for shopping for hours and the long, long lunches watching people.

Why Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France?

The Languedoc region is a truly magical place that boasts the majestic Pyrenees to the west and spills onto the glorious Mediterranean Sea to the east. The landscape can be rugged and untamed with craggy cliffs, breathtaking gorges, and miles and miles of winding roads through awe-inspiring countryside.

However, there is the other side of this amazing region and that is the endless vineyards, the unbelievable Mediterranean, the astounding Canal du Midi and the mouth watering seafood. The Languedoc region is right next to the well known region of Provence where tourism is a lifestyle.

The Languedoc is very different and has a much more Spanish feel as our base for the ten day tour is only a mere three hour drive away and it is in the vibrant city of Barcelona that we begin your journey of a lifetime.

What is on offer?

After a night of ambling on La Ramblas, drinking sangria and eating traditional Spanish food we spend the next morning shopping for nothing in particular in beautiful Barcelona. After lunch we head off to our base near Pezenas in France. Three hours later we find ourselves at a gorgeous French chateau covered with the mandatory ivy and greeted with welcoming smiles.

You know you will have a good time once you have been shown your room that has views of the vineyards and a fridge stocked with three bottles of their own wine. A swim in the pool and then it is off to find a quaint little eatery in the historic town of Pezenas where cobble stones and geranium-filled baskets line the streets.

Your holiday has only just begun and already you have been French Kissed. The next nine days takes you to castles, on a sunset boat trip where you eat freshly caught sardines cooked on the beach, a meander along the famous Canal du Midi, to quirky out-of-the-way restaurants, as well as to the hilltop village of Roquefort where blue cheese originated. Every day brings new sights, new smells and new experiences.

French Kissed Tours provides everything you need from computers to hair dryers so that all you need is a sense of adventure and an irresistible curiosity to see what is around the next corner. Laughter is mandatory and a sense of humor is highly recommended. What do you get when you put six women in one place? A whopping good time.
