Spurred by the fertility success stories she read about on IVF Connections' Web site, Jennifer Leeds made plans to visit the Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad (I.V.I.), in Valencia, Spain. Leeds, a 44-year-old real estate appraiser from Crofton, Maryland, had already seen a number of fertility specialists; she knew she'd need to have in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments if she wanted to have a baby. But she also knew she and her husband weren't up for spending $28,000, the price a private fertility clinic charged for the outpatient procedure, which wasn't covered by their insurance policy...
