Argentina saw a significant increase in international tourism during the first half of this year, with over 6.2 million visitors from other countries. This is more than double the number of travelers over last year's period, reflecting a 55% increase. According to the Argentine National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec), January was Argentina's most successful month of tourism, welcoming 1.15 million visitors. In contrast, June had the lowest number of visitors, with 947,800. However, this still represents a 79.6% increase compared to the same month in 2022. Matías Lammens, the Minister of Tourism and Sports in Argentina, emphasized that June's figures were "the best so far this century" and celebrated the milestone of surpassing pre-pandemic visitor numbers.

Regarding visitor country of origin, Uruguay accounted for 26.1% of visitors, followed by Brazil with 23.8% and Chile with 16.8%. These top three countries comprised 66.8% of the total visitors in June. As for transportation, 44.5% of visitors arrived by air, 40.8% used land transportation, and the remaining 14.7% chose to travel by river or sea.
