Choosing the perfect luxury holiday for your family is not necessarily an easy task. There has to be just the right mix of relaxation and excitement to truly make it a holiday to remember. Thankfully, there are a number of locations in Europe and beyond that provide sun, sea and sand and top quality accommodation and facilities.

Situated in the Canary Islands, this is a great location for all members of the family. Many of the resorts in Tenerife have golf courses and fine dining for mum and dad, while the kids can be kept engaged with the various hotels' activity centres. The natural surroundings are breathtaking and beautiful, offering perfect opportunities for hikes and walks and making Tenerife one of the best locations for luxury family holidays around.

Thousands of holidaymakers flock to Crete each year for the fine weather, and the island is a perfect spot to take a luxurious family break. Crete is famous for its fine beaches, although if you want to swim and relax in private, many of the hotels provide VIP packages complete with seafront views and use of exclusive pools for your family alone. Again, children's clubs can be found at resorts all over the island where the kids can enjoy specific children's menus and complimentary snacks.

Although people usually think of the party atmosphere of Ibiza when they think about the Balearic islands, Mallorca is also a great destination that provides a much more family orientated holiday. Private villas complete with butler service and private pools offer an elegant form of relaxation during your holiday, while there are also various seaside activities such as snorkeling, windsurfing, canoeing and sailing on offer for the more adventurous members of your family (i.e. the children!). All in all, Mallorca is a great spot to spend a week or two in unparalleled luxury.

Sardinia has the usual facets of any luxury holiday, but with a twist - many of its exquisite beaches are protected coastal areas, meaning the staggering views and sights you see on holiday here are unlikely to be equalled anywhere else. One of Sardinia's main architectural sights, the tower of Chia, makes a welcome addition to the view from your luxury room, although for those who prefer a more rustic form of relaxation there are cottages available as well as the more common villa. Again, water sports are available for the children as are additional activities such as tennis and pitch and putt golf, while for the adults the Molas golf course is guaranteed to provide a welcome break from the strains of daily life.

Situated just off the coast of Africa, the location of Fuerteventura ensures that you will enjoy the best weather on your luxury family holiday. For a unique site, the sand dunes of Corralejo are hard to beat, while there are also great views of the neighbouring island of Lobos. Mum and Dad will be able to relax in the spas and wellness centres Fuerteventura has to offer, while there are also plenty of activities for the children to enjoy as well.
