The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre has celebrated its third anniversary by winning this year’s TravelWeekly Asia Industry Awards. It was not the first victory of this spectacular facility – KLCC was also the last year’s winner and has thus achieved two victories in its three years history. Other nominees in this category were the Suntec Singapore and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Peter Brokenshire, the manager of KLCC, commented on this success: “The fact that we have won the prize in two successive years proves the importance of team work and shows the extend to which the Malaysians long to achieve international acknowledgement. We share this triumph with our partners from Team Malaysia: Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines and Kuala Lumpur City Hall. All these institutions have cooperated with us and together we have made Malaysia, with the city of Kuala Lumpur in its centre, a well-known congress and meeting facility in the region of Southeast Asia.”
The criteria for nomination in the category of “Best Exhibition and Convention Centre” are above all challenging the quality of the facility’s products and excellent services, professional performance in every aspect, flexibility and adaptability to the development and changes on the market, customer-focused innovations of program and products and their overall high quality standards.
