Tourism in Thailand evolves on its visas

Since April 1, 2023, the Thai government has reduced the maximum length of stay in the country for visa-exempt tourists to 30 days. Previously, starting in October 2022, this period had been increased to 45 days for travellers from various countries, in order to promote arrivals.
However, this period can be extended to 90 days for those who enter the country for 30 days without a visa and then apply for an e-Visa 60 days before arrival, instead of going to the local immigration office, thus avoiding administrative formalities.

Thailand welcomed 11.15 million foreign visitors in 2022, up from about 428,000 a year earlier when pandemic-related travel restrictions were still in place.
