UK View

The occupancy rate may stagnate next year, as UK citizens will be mindful of " Brexit"; and seek shorter breaks, with cheaper options, now more readily available in Spain.
I travel to Portugal & Azores several times per year, and have seen 12% increase in 4***" options.
Portugal has traditionally utilised older, that is middle/older aged people to staff hotels, and this has shrunk. With it the professionalism of their work thus disappears. Young people do not have the temperament to deal with presentations at hotels. They may indeed be capable of speaking several languages, but this loses out to the universal languages of courtesy, manners and efficiency. I witness more intolerance from younger people in hotels in general.
