Misquoted statement

Lonely Planet was not the first to report on the issue of overtourism in Japan and raise awareness about it. I was, a small independent travel writer, who first published an article about this very issue in June 2018 before other major publications even caught on to this worrying trend.
The author of the Lonely Planet article you mention below blatantly copied and pasted that quote from my website a year after I first wrote it. Lazy journalism and a disappointment to to smaller travel writers such as myself.
"Mass tourism in some parts of Japan led its residents to coin a new word: ‘kankō kōgai’, which could be translated as 'tourism pollution', as reported by the Lonely Planet."
