What will change for travelers to Thailand from May 1, 2025

Thailand is getting ready to change the way visitors register their arrival. Starting May 1, 2025, the new Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) will take over from the old paper TM6 form—a move meant to cut through some of the usual red tape.

In most cases, this change should make entry procedures less hectic. Before, many travelers had to complete that cumbersome paper form either while still onboard or once they reached border control, noting details like their name, surname, birthdate, passport number, and where they planned to stay in Thailand. The paper TM6 method was first put on hold in July 2022, and then, as things evolved, that suspension was pushed back until April 30, 2025.

So, beginning May 1, 2025, anyone coming into Thailand will need to use the digital system and submit their information online before arriving. Just a small note—the form must be filled out within 72 hours (or about 3 days) prior to landing, ensuring everything’s in order ahead of time.
