This phenomenon has global television audience that can put the biggest sporting events to shame including the Super Bowl.

MLB Mets-Yankees Subway Series (New York City)

One of the biggest rivals in baseball will meet in New York. The clash between these foes is rare because of the division setup, but it should be a belter of a contest. This scenic venue will be the place to be as the FIVB Beach Volleyball Championships roll around. Poland loves its volleyball and the attendance numbers will be sky high during the tournament.

Continuing with the basketball angle, there is a men's tournament too. Slovenia will play host in September for this tournament that always attracts countless eyes. With Spain going into the tournament as a hot favorite, the competition will be fierce as all of Europe looks to knock them off their perch.

2013 ICC Champions Trophy (London, Birmingham, Cardiff)

With this being the last 'ICC Champions Trophy' to ever be played, the importance is at an ultimate high. With the world's top cricket squads getting together in the lovely setting of Birmingham, the drive for glory will be higher than ever before. The likes of India, Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka, the West Indies, England and many more will be participating. This tournament will have a lot of ups and downs including the most anticipated match between arch rivals, India and Pakistan on June 15th – a date that has already been marked down by both nations as a big one.
