An 'arresting' new self catering serviced apartment has been transformed from what once was the holding cells in The Old Police Station, Shrewsbury into a luxury pad with a difference.

The Old Police Cells, situated in Swan Hill is owned and run by Ann and Mark Johnson who rent out the apartment for business or holiday breaks.

The apartment incorporates three cells with original cell doors, brick barrelled ceilings and barred windows. Contemporary décor, modern furnishings and 'all mod cons' make it ideal for a home from home getaway and the perfect place to explore Shropshire's county town.

'We wanted to create a holiday apartment with a difference', said Mark. 'Clients who have stayed with us are amazed to see its authentic features and are intrigued by the history of the building and of the cells'.

The apartment is attracting interest from all over the UK and abroad and has featured in Visit Britain's 'what's hot for 2011'.

We have history of the building, first hand accounts from ex policemen stationed at The Old Police Station and contact from Ian Hunter (Mott the Hoople) whose father was stationed there. The Old Police Cells was launched in October 2010, has low and high season rates and is available all year round.
