Adventure tourists who have a tendency to try everything – possibly within a very short period of time – have a great opportunity to do so. The Asian country of India, which has been attracting many history enthusiasts and culture lovers, has also turned into a magnet for adventure seekers. Its wondrous topographical diversity is a blessing; the majestic and steep Himalayas form the northern boundary of the country, while the south is surrounded by the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. Opportunities are vast.

The Himalayas present a prefect opportunity for skiers. It provides some absolutely thrilling ski trails; the season starts at the end of December and usually lasts until the end of March. Most popular ski slopes are in Gulmarg in Kashmir or Auli in Uttar Pradesh. Helicopter skiing is also possible, namely in Manali in Himachal Pradesh and Gulmarg.

Steep mountains equal mighty rivers. White-water rafting and kayaking is very popular among the tourists who visit the Himalayas. Several camps are organized on the River Ganges, along a 70-km long stretch form Rishikesh to Devprayag. Other great rivers are Yamuna, Alaknanda, or Mandakini. Also, fishing enthusiasts claim India to be their paradise.

Trekking and rock climbing has a very long tradition in the Himalayas as well. Beginners shouldn’t despair, as those without prior experience can easily manage the altitudes from 2500 to 4000 meters. The mountains are highly praised by bikers. Here, the cycling opportunities are endless.

Those who love the sea and marine life are encouraged to visit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Here, scuba diving and snorkeling is the ideal opportunity to explore the coastline. Adventurers admire the breathtaking underwater scenery and precious coral reefs. The popularity of parasailing has also grown significantly in the past few years.

Simply speaking, India is a thrilling country with endless possibilities.
