Warsaw becomes a safer place to live every year. In comparison to 2007 20 per cent less crimes were recorded last year.

“People feel safe on the streets also after dark for 3 years now,” said Hanna Groniewicz-Waltz opening an international conference of safety in big agglomerations.

The head of Warsaw’s Safety and Crisis Management Bureau – Ewa Gabor – said that ensuring safety on the streets is one of main priorities of Warsaw’s authorities. In order to achieve those goals the city helps to finance Police and Fire Brigades.

78 million zloty (37 million Euros) was given to the Police by the city over last three years. This money was spent for additional Police patrols and new equipment such as 150 Police cars, 600 computers and 150 radiophones. Police is also equipped with mobile center of visual monitoring, which was bought with Euro 2012 in thought.
