In a recent feature, the internationally renowned publication compared the Adriatic country to European neighbours such as Switzerland and Sweden in the environmental stakes.
Forbes specifically highlighted Croatia"s beaches, which are hugely popular with tourists across the world, as being a major attraction.
The article"s author, Andy Stone, wrote: "Croatia recognises the value of tourism and makes clean beaches a priority."
Mr. Stone also alluded to the quality of the nation"s cuisine by suggesting Croatia offered some of the region"s best fish.
"The country, which lies across the Adriatic Sea from Italy, offers visitors ample, healthy fishing stocks."
Overall, the US magazine ranked Croatia as the cleanest country in Eastern Europe and central Asia.
Earlier this month, the daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija reported that the country"s tourist season had got off to a spectacular start, according to the Croatian Times.
