WARSAW MUSEUM NIGHT APPROACHING

On 16th May 2009 people from Warsaw as well as tourists will be able to go to 141 sanctuaries of culture. During this only night it will be possible to visit not only the most important museums and galleries but also, for the first time, Polish Sejm, Synagogue of Nozyki and Archive of the Polish Academy of Science.

 

Museum Night will start at 7 pm with MoCarta band concert at Krakowskie Przedmiescie. Later a parade with dancers and jugglers will move in the direction of Castle Square. At 9 pm there will be a performance of open air theater called Theater Act in front of the St Ann"s Church.

Later on every hour various performances will take place in front of the most important cultural monuments and museums. What will please the visitors is that this year quarter of the sights and places will be open until 3 am. The rest of the galleries and museums will host visitors until 1 am.

As always during the Museum Night it will be possible to visit several national institutes - Bulgarian Institute of Culture, Czech Institute, French Institute and Hungarian Institute of Culture.

It is a tradition of the Museum Nights that the entrance is always free. Also all performances will take place free of charge. Unlimited access is granted to all places apart from Warsaw Filters and viewing platform at Culture and Science Palace, where visitors will have to have special invitations that will be given out free by the media.
