Where do the famous spend their holidays? Where do Monarchs, movie stars or the super rich go on vacation? There is a place known to be visited by this kind of people. It is in Africa, on the slopes of Mt Kenya, one hundred and ninety kilometers north of Nairobi.

 

This hideout is known as Mount Kenya Safari Club. It is 10 km from the town of Nanyuki and it takes 40-minutes to flight from Nanyuki to the capital. The facility was founded by a renowned movie star William Holden in 1959.

 

Among the famous visitors of the club was for example Winston Churchill or Bing Crosby. The visitors may admire the stunning views of the Kenya"s highest peak. There are 100 acres of gardens, two villas, 13 riverside and 12 William Holden cottages as well as two restaurants.

 

The club’s luxurious rooms have private bathrooms with shower, bath tub and flush toilets. All the rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs and direct-dial phones. People who need to stay in touch wit the cyber space may use internet connection in the business centre or Wi-Fi connection in the lobby.

 

Guests may spend their time by just relaxing near the swimming pool or in sauna. The more active will like the possibility to use the local golf course or tennis courts. Among other activities guests may also climb the mountains, watch the game, or go fishing. Animal lovers may enjoy visiting an animal orphanage at the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy. It is also possible to take plane and visit any point of interest in Kenya.

 

The club is not only known for its famous members it also has a unique location as it is located at the equator. Therefore a guest crosses the equator just by getting from the lobby to the restaurant.
